Privacy policy

This site is published by George Draghici, an independent publisher reachable at contact [at] moviereads [dot] com. This page describes what we collect and why. It is short because we collect little.

You do not need an account

There is no reader sign-up, no newsletter and no comment system. Nothing on the public site asks you for your name, your email address or a password. The administrative area is restricted to the site's own editors and uses Google sign-in.

Analytics, only if you accept

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. Analytics storage is switched off by default: on your first visit a banner asks, and Google's tag is held in a consent-denied state until you choose. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set.

• mr_consent — set by this site to remember your answer to the banner. It holds only the words granted or denied and expires after 180 days. It is set whichever way you answer, so we stop asking.
• _ga, _ga_* — set by Google Analytics only after you accept, to tell repeat visits apart. Google processes this data as described in its own privacy policy.

To change your mind, clear this site's cookies in your browser; the banner will ask again on your next visit.

Affiliate links

Pages carry links to Amazon that earn us a commission on qualifying purchases — the full terms are on the disclosure page. We do not receive your name, address or payment details from Amazon; we see only aggregate earnings reports. Once you follow a link you are on Amazon's site and Amazon's privacy policy applies.

Embedded video

Some pages embed a trailer from YouTube. Only a still image is loaded until you press play; from that point the player is Google's and it may set cookies under Google's own policies.

Server logs

Our hosting provider keeps standard access logs — IP address, timestamp, the page requested and the browser's user-agent string. They exist to keep the site running and to spot abuse, they are kept for a short period, and they are not combined with anything else.

Your rights

If you are in the EU or UK you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to processing. Write to contact [at] moviereads [dot] com and we will answer within 30 days. In practice, unless you have written to us before, the only thing we are likely to hold is a server log line.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page.
